Karen Kimzey, DDS

Dr. Karen Kimzey’s journey to becoming an endodontist began during her time in public health, where she witnessed a significant lack of access to endodontic care. Motivated to make a lasting impact, she and her family made the decision to pursue advanced specialty training with the long-term goal of improving access to root canals and other endodontic resources for surrounding communities.

A California native, Dr. Kimzey earned her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California, Davis. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. After that, she completed advanced dental training through a General Practice Residency at St. Charles Hospital in New York. Dr. Kimzey also serves as an endodontist in the U.S. Army Reserves.

After nearly a decade in practice, Dr. Kimzey was accepted into one of the nation’s most prestigious endodontic programs at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. During this time, she trained under leading educators and clinicians in the field, gaining extensive experience in microsurgery, 3D imaging, and erbium laser technology in endodontics.

Known for her fun-loving and pleasant personality, Dr. Kimzey is admired for providing compassionate, honest, and exceptional care.

Outside the office, Dr. Kimzey cherishes time with her husband and children. Together, they enjoy swimming, baking, and exploring the outdoors. Excited to put down roots in the community, Dr. Kimzey is committed to delivering high-quality endodontic care to the greater Sacramento area.
